Men’s professional volleyball’s Samsung Fire snapped a nine-game losing streak by sending KB Insurance into a deep hole.
Samsung Fire defeated KB Sonbo 3-2 (24-26 21-25 25-18 25-19 15-12) in straight sets in their Dodram 2023-2024 V-League home match at Chungmu Gymnasium in Daejeon on Nov. 19.
Samsung Fire pushed OK Financial Group to fourth place and moved up one spot to third.
KB Sonbo has lost nine straight matches since defeating KEPCO 3-2 in its first match of the season on March 17.
The nine-game losing streak is the third-longest in KB’s franchise history. KB Sonbo has lost five times with set scores of 2-3 during the losing streak.
The star of Samsung Fire’s victory was outside hitter Yosvani Hernandez (real name Yosvani).
The outside hitter poured in 39 points, including 13 kills, to go along with four blocks and four service aces to earn her third Triple Crown of the season (at least three kills, three blocks, and three service aces).
Yosvani was held back in the first and second sets by two crucial blocks from KB Sonbo’s foreign-born outside hitter Andres Biyena (real name Biyena).
Trailing 20-21 late in the first set, Bijena scored a timed attack and then immediately followed it up with a block.
She closed out the first set with a back-attack winner at 25-24 set point.
Late in the second set, with the score tied at 22-21, Bijena blocked a quick open attack from Yosvani on the left side. The ball hit Bijena’s hand and fell to the court, and Samsung Fire players were unable to pick it up, making it a two-point game.
KB Sonbo quickly closed out the second set with an open goal by Bijena and an interception by Bae Sang-jin.
Yosubani, whose attack success rate in the second set dropped to 30 percent, came alive in the third set.
After scoring 10 points in the third set with a 54.55% attack success rate, including three service points, Yosubani combined with Kim Jung-ho (7 points) for 15 points in the fourth set to push the match to a fifth set.
Samsung Fire was down early in the fifth set, but finally broke through on the serve of Mongolian Eddie, who was selected as the Asia Quarterfinalist.
Eddie hit a service ace from the end of the court to tie the score at 4-4, and on his next serve, he forced KB Sonbo setter Hwang Seung-bin to commit an over net error.
When Bijena’s opening attack was blocked by Kim Jun-woo, Samsung Fire took a 6-4 lead.
Afterward, Yosubani’s cool back-attack attack helped Samsung Chemicals to accumulate pure points, and the team maintained its three-point advantage until the end.
Kim Jung-ho scored 16 points and Kim Jun-woo added 11 points to support Yosubani.
In the women’s game at Gwangju’s Pepper Stadium, IBK leapfrogged last-place Pepper Savings Bank to move up one spot in the standings from sixth to fifth.
IBK won the set 3-1 (25-18 20-25 25-22 25-19) to earn its fourth win of the season (sixth loss).
With 11 points, they are tied with Korea Expressway Corporation 카지노사이트 (3-6), but the two teams have swapped places in the standings.
IBK was down 15-18 in the third set with the set score tied 1-1, but a strong back row attack by Brittany Abercrombie (real name Abercrombie), a service ace by Kim Ha-seong, and another attack by Abercrombie tied the match.
At 18-19, Pepper Savings Bank’s Park Jung-ah and Yasmin Bedardt (registered name Yasmin) tied the score with consecutive errors, then Abecrombie blocked Park’s attack to make it 21-19.
IBK earned a 24-21 set point on an Abercrombie service ace and then closed out the third set with an opponent service error.
After replacing setter Ponpun Gerfard (real name Ponpun) with Kim Ha-kyung in the third set to change the atmosphere, IBK brought Ponpun back in at the start of the fourth set.
Ponfun completed the four-set win by utilizing wing attackers Abecrombie and Pyo Seung-ju, as well as middle blocker Choi Jung-min, in the right places at the right time.
IBK’s Abecrombie led the way with a team-high 31 kills to go along with 11 digs, four blocks, and one service point.
Pyo Seung-ju (13 kills) and Lim Hye-rim (10 kills) combined for 23 kills, while Choi Jung-min chipped in with nine kills, including four blocks.
Pepper Savings Bank, whose Yasmin-Park Jeong-ah-Lee Han-bi trio combined for 51 points, exposed its lack of depth and committed turnovers in every game to drop to 7-2 and remain at the bottom of the league. 온라인카지노
