Tottenham is making history.

Tottenham defeated Crystal Palace 2-1 in the 10th round of the 2023-2024 English Premier League (EPL) on Sunday (Nov. 28) at Selhurst Park in London, England, thanks to a Son Heung-min goal. Not a single defeat.

Tottenham’s 10-match unbeaten run (8 wins, 2 draws) puts them on 26 points, five ahead of second- and third-place Man City and Arsenal (both on 21 points), who have played one game less.

The last time the Spurs won the regular season title was in 1960-1961. This is their best start in 63 years. Head coach Enze Postecoglou, who joined the EPL this season, is also breaking records every game.

‘Captain’ Son Heung-min, who scored a goal and an assist against Fulham in the ninth round on the 24th, scored his eighth goal of the season to move into second place. He is just one goal behind the top scorer, Elling Holland (Man City – 9 goals).

Postecoglou made headlines after the game when he “sniped” at Man United legend Gary Neville, a pundit for Sky Sports in the UK. It was two months ago.

Tottenham won their home opener against United 2-0 on Aug. 20, but no one could have predicted this day for Spurs.

Neville sparked controversy by devaluing Postecoglou’s leadership. He said: “In my opinion, managers have copied the ideas of Pep Guardiola at Man City and made it quite ineffective. There’s no doubt about that. It’s a balance between risk and reward, but Tottenham have to adapt to it.”

Postecoglou poked fun at Neville after the 2-0 win over Bournemouth on Aug. 26, appearing in the TNT Sports studio with a panel that included former Spurs player Peter Crouch and Chelsea legend Joe Cole.

“I’m just imitating Pep,” he said, laughing, after a series of “nahs” at their tactical praise. Cole and Crouch were “bowled over”.

The meeting finally happened after the Crystal Palace game. Postecoglou was confronted by Neville and Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher.

Carragher quickly brought up the past. He joked that Tottenham’s success came from copying Guardiola. Neville was taken aback, and Postecoglou’s response was a masterpiece.

“I only study one game a week, I see what he’s doing and where I need to go from there,” he wittily responded. Neville and Carragher’s smiles exploded.

Postecoglou warmed up the atmosphere by saying, “There’s nothing wrong with what he said.” “I try to imitate Pep,” Neville said, and the 사설토토 outdoor studio erupted in laughter as Postecoglou asked, “How did it go?”

“We’re going to see Man City,” he joked as he wrapped up the interview. It was a win for Postecoglu.
