The Bucheon Hana OneQ women’s professional basketball team swept past Incheon Shinhan Bank to record its first win after a four-game losing streak to open the season.

The Hana OneQ defeated Shinhan Bank 79-65 in the away leg of the Woori Bank Woori WON 2023-2024 regular season at Dowon Gymnasium in Incheon on Monday afternoon.

With the win, Hana OneQ (5-1-1) snapped a four-game losing streak to open the season and escaped the bottom of the standings. On the other hand, Shinhan Bank, which was unable to pick up a win even against the underdog Hana OneQ, slipped to sixth place after losing its opening four games in a row.

Ace Shin Ji-hyun led the way with 17 points, nine assists and seven rebounds.

Kim Jong-un, who played for Asan Woori Bank until last season and is back with his “parent” Hana OneQ, added 14 points.

Drafted by Hana Wonq’s predecessor Shinsegae with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2006 rookie draft, Kim had only played for one team until 2017.

Hana also had solid performances from Uhm Seo-i (12 points), Yang In-young (10 points), Kim Anna (9 points), and Kim Ha-na (8 points).

On the other hand, Shinhan Bank’s ace Kim Sonia struggled with just seven points and eight rebounds. Kim struggled with poor shooting, missing 11 of 14 field goals.

Kim Ji-young and Lee Da-yeon chipped in with 13 points apiece, but it wasn’t enough to prevent Shinhan Bank from losing.

Prior to the game, an official retirement ceremony was held for Han Chae-jin, the 1984-born forward who took the court last season as the oldest active player.

Han Chae-jin left the court for the last time during the second round of the 2022-2023 Playoffs (PO) between Shinhan Bank and Woori Bank at Dowon Gymnasium on March 13. 파워볼
