EASL groupings are complete.
Japan B.League 2023-24 champion Hiroshima Dragon Flyers and runner-up Ryukyu Golden Kings have qualified for the East Asia Super League (EASL) 2024-25 season.
Hiroshima and Ryukyu, representing Japan’s B.League, will join KBL 2023-24 champions Busan KCC and runners-up Suwon KT, as well as Taiwan P.LEAGUE+ and the two best teams from the Philippines PBA, to be determined at a later date, to compete for the 토토사이트 순위 East Asian Professional Basketball Championship in the EASL 2024-25 season.
Hiroshima won the B.League 2023-24 championship on May 28, defeating Ryukyu 2 games to 1 in the championship game. Hiroshima lifted the B.League championship trophy for the first time in the club’s history.
EASL CEO Henry Kerins said: “The EASL is excited to see the B.League winner and runner-up compete once again on the EASL stage to be crowned East Asian Champions. We look forward to playing again in Okinawa, the home of the Ryukyus, where we played together last season, and to seeing what Hiroshima can do in the 2024-25 season.”
B.League President Shinji Shimada said: “Japan B.League 2023-24 champions Hiroshima and runners-up Ryukyu will represent the B.League in the EASL next season. Both teams have proven why they are two of the best teams in Japan after a year of fierce competition in the B.League. Last season, the Chiba Jets were crowned EASL champions. We look forward to seeing one of Hiroshima or Ryukyu bring the trophy back to Japan next EASL season.”
The groupings for the EASL 2024-25 season were agreed upon by the participating leagues earlier this year. As a result, B.LEAGUE winners Hiroshima have been placed in Group A and runners-up Ryukyu in Group B. The groupings so far are as follows
Group A – Suwon KT, Hiroshima Dragon Flyers, P.LEAGUE+ runners-up, PBA champions
Group B – Busan KCC, Ryukyu Golden Kings, P.LEAGUE+ winners, PBA runners-up
Meanwhile, the P.LEAGUE+ and PBA participants will be determined in June, when each league concludes its 2023-24 season.
